Open-Source Licenses

Last updated: October 2, 2026

Replico is built with, and ships alongside, open-source software. This page lists the main components and where to get their source code and licence texts.

FFmpeg (screen capture and encoding)

The Replico desktop app includes an unmodified build of FFmpeg, which it runs as a separate program to capture and encode your screen recordings. The builds we include are the GPL variants, which contain the x264 encoder, and are licensed under the GNU General Public License. See ffmpeg.org/legal.html for details.

Where the builds come from, and where to get the corresponding source code:

If you would like a copy of the source code for the FFmpeg version shipped with a particular Replico release, email [email protected] and we will provide it.

Tauri

The desktop app is built with Tauri and its plugins, licensed under the MIT and Apache 2.0 licenses.

Inter typeface

Text is set in Inter by The Inter Project Authors, licensed under the SIL Open Font License 1.1. The font files are hosted by us.

Other libraries

Replico also uses other open-source packages (for example Express, Redis client, bcryptjs, helmet, and Rust crates). Each remains under its own licence, usually MIT, ISC, BSD, or Apache 2.0.
